Clockwork → Mature Theme Guidelines
Addressing the issue of offensively mature themes: All of the following must be labeled in the warnings section of a log. Preferably at the beginning of a log instead of halfway through. If you aren't sure, rate it with potential warnings just to be safe. You can always go back and remove some if they don't work out as planned. Allowed: No Requirements. A touchy subject. Please be mature about it when discussing it IC, it is understandable for a character to accidentally end up pregnant and not want the child, but please do not use this as an excuse to get out of a decision on RP canon pregnancy. Take into consideration your character's beliefs and morals. (There is always the option to put it up for adoption within the city.) Allowed: Must be plot related. Must have a mutual agreement between muns involved. Suicide is always a delicate subject. Assisted suicides are the only way your character can choose death IC without the consequences of leaving the game. However, it is something to be discussed with another mun, and both muns must take into consideration the guilt and emotional stress something like that puts on a person. It is understandable that not all characters feel remorse, but do not take this lightly. Allowed: No Requirements. Drink responsibly. If your character is going to get hammered, it is suggested that they have a good reason to. Substance abuse is common in canon, but otherwise keep in mind that there are characters that either wouldn't drink, or wouldn't get drunk without a good reason. Canonly-Allowed: Discuss with other muns. Must be canon to your character. Plots pre-approved by Mods. If, for some reason, you want to include cannibalism in your plot, it must be canon for your character. (The only exception would be one vampire turning another character into a vampire) Communicate with other muns about your character feeding on their characters, and make sure they discuss it with any other muns that could be involved (since we have quite a few characters that come as a pair) Please use this theme responsibly. Preferably, do not use it unless it is canon for your character. Allowed: Be realistic. Again, be responsible. If your character is doing drugs in the RP (for whatever reason), do your research. Have them affected the same way any normal person would be in the real world. Same goes for overdosing or mixing medication with alcohol. If you can't find the side effects of the substance they are abusing, then contact a Mod for help. Allowed: Mun consent. Keep in mind not everyone enjoys graphic violence. When roleplaying with another mun, make sure they are comfortable with gorey details before getting too descriptive. Allowed: No Requirements. It is a big part of many RPs. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you find or make an RP that is focused on heterosexual relationships. CW has many homosexual themes. If that makes you uncomfortable, then I'd advise you to find another community. Allowed: No Requirements. Incest is a big issue among society. Especially between a parent and a child. Here, we have many characters who have siblings. Fanon often likes to form a deeper attraction between siblings due to their strong bonds. Being that this is anime and not real life, it is an allowed subject. Clonecest is about the same thing. It is similar to twincest, however the individuals are technically the same person. Allowed: Mutual mun agreements. Major murder plots (involving more than two killings) must be pre-approved by a Mod. This is a big subject and plot point at CW. To kill another person's character, you must get the mun's permission. It is something that can affect more than one character, even if the other character involved is not being killed. I can not stress enough: talk to the muns involved or affected. I know things happen in other RPs where discussion isn't involved with outside parties, but do consider the feelings of other characters. It is all part of being respectful and considerate. Canonly - Allowed: Must be in your character's canon. Discuss with other muns. It's something that varies with canon or mental stability. Like cannibalism, it must be canon for your character in order to be put into action. Also must be discussed between the muns with characters involved. Allowed: Must be logical. Mutual decision between the muns involved. It's a wonderful thing! However, it can be a subject that people can abuse or take too far. We do not support M-preg or Fem-preg. If you want pregnancy in RP-canon, then you must respect the natural course of fertilization between a male and a female. Protection during sex may be used, and there is always the morning after pill. Pregnancy must be a mutual decision between the two muns involved. (And the time frame for pregnancy at CW lasts about two months) Plot-Canonly-Allowed: Discuss the plans for the plot beyond the situation with the muns involved. Must be pre-approved by a Mod or Mods. Be prepared to reveal plot points you have in mind that are directly linked to this situation. Must be handled with maturity and with the thought in mind that no one walks away without some mental scarring. I don't care who you are, being raped is not something to take lightly. It is common to hide from it, not admit that it happened, or act like it didn't happen, but that doesn't mean your character will just act normally unless they confront the issue (and even then, there are lasting scars). Unless it has something to do with a plot point or your character is canonly running around raping people, it will not be allowed. This isn't a funny subject, and should be handled maturely. Allowed: Mun discussion. Strict IC reactions. (Bondage, S&M, etc.) Experimentation is natural, but when dealing with such a theme, you must keep in mind your character's canon personality. If they are naturally violent, then they may get too into these situations, however if your character isn't a very violent person, then they may be reluctant to try such things with their partners. Allowed: No non-con. Consensual is fine in CW, however please keep the statutory non-consensual sex out of the RP. Also keep in mind the extent of the character's relationship. Allowed: Permanent death. Must re-app if you desire to still play that character. It's a permanent death at CW. We ask that you handle this decision with care. Give your character a reason to commit suicide. Don't do it 'just because' you are dropping. This is a subject for plot points. It's not a necessary action for your character in order for you to drop. Allowed: Mun agreement on all sides. These are interesting relationships to work with, however in CW things get pretty dramatic with IC relationships. If your character is involved with more than one character in a romantic or sexual way, please discuss it as a group and make sure all muns involved agree on playing it out. Allowed: Mun agreement. Must move a plot or sub plot along. As long as your character has a reason to torture another character, it is valid. I believe this will come into play for revenge purposes as well as hatred spawned from a split personality. Mun agreement from all parties involved is required as well as a plot-moving reason. Allowed: Mun discretion. Must be tasteful. This is left to the discretion of the muns involved. It is understood that kids have sex at various ages, but please keep anything dealing with under aged characters tasteful. We would not appreciate any character under the age of 16 running around in bondage gear, okay?
